A significant transformation is underway at Elmswood Retirement Village, bringing new villas and completely refreshed spaces for residents to enjoy. It’s a new chapter for our central Christchurch village, and we can’t wait to share it with current and future residents.
Things are changing at Elmswood
Elmswood has been part of Christchurch for more than 30 years, and while much of our village deserves to be held onto, some aspects are due a refresh. You’ll still find our beautiful, established gardens and the close-knit community that are synonymous with life at Elmswood, but you’ll soon be able to enjoy brand new facilities too.
We’re investing in a significant transformation that will create new spaces for meeting friends and family, sharing meals and spending time together. Alongside this, we're building new villas and upgrading behind-the-scenes facilities that support daily life across the village.
New spaces at the heart of the village
We will transform some of Elmswood’s most-used communal areas, with completion expected by the end of 2027.
The new facilities will include:
A new café for coffee, conversation and time with family and friends.
A new reading room for quiet afternoons spent with a good book or a puzzle.
A multi-purpose room for village activities and gatherings.
A new hair salon for convenient cuts and curls on your doorstep.
Seven brand new villas - limited availability
